Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Veluna Press, the publisher of The Hungry Ages. By installing or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not install the app.
Your license
When you buy a volume or the Complete Series, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, lifetime license to install and use the app on one computer at a time.
- Single user. The license is for one person. Family members in the same household may use the app on the activated computer.
- Lifetime. There is no subscription and no expiry. The version you buy keeps working for as long as your computer can run it, even without the internet.
- Updates. Bug fixes and updates to the foods in the volumes you own are free for the life of the product. If we ever release a separate new product, buying it will be optional.
Moving computers
You may move your license to a new computer whenever you like by releasing it in the app and activating the new computer. If the old computer is lost or broken, we will move it for you by email. To prevent abuse, we may limit transfers without a release to a reasonable number per year. See Support for the steps.
First Bite
First Bite is free for personal use, with no time limit. You may share the installer with friends, family, and students, unmodified, and without charging for it; anyone can get First Bite for free on our Payhip page.
What is not allowed
- Sharing, publishing, or reselling your license key, or activating it for someone else.
- Bypassing, disabling, or tampering with license activation.
- Copying the app's text, images, or data in bulk, or republishing them as your own product. Quoting short passages with credit, and sharing the app's share cards, is welcome.
- Reverse engineering the app, except where the law gives you that right.
Schools and organizations that want to install the app on many computers need a classroom or site license. Email support@velunapress.com.
Refunds
Try First Bite first; it is the same app. If a volume or the Complete Series does not run on your computer, email us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. Refund requests that do not involve a technical problem are handled case by case. A refunded license is deactivated.
Content and accuracy
We work hard to make every date, place, and number accurate, cite our sources, and note where historians disagree. History is still being written, though, and mistakes happen. If you spot one, tell us and we will fix it in a free update. Recipes are provided for education and enjoyment; check ingredients for allergies and dietary needs before you cook.
Warranty and liability
Apart from the refund promise above, the app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived, including in your state or province.
General
We may update these terms for future versions; the terms in effect when you bought your license continue to apply to the version you bought. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions go to support@velunapress.com.
